San Benito man charged with intoxication manslaughter

On Friday February 22, 2013, at 10:30am, San Benito Police Officers proceeded to arrest 21 year old Felipe Sanchez Jr. out of San Benito. He charged with Intoxication Manslaughter in connection with the vehicle collision early in the morning hours by FM 732.

Felipe Sanchez Jr. was the driver of the Mustang that was traveling south on FM 732 and collided head-on with a black Harley Davidson Motorcycle driven by 38 year old Jose Luis Espinoza out of San Benito that was traveling north on FM 732. The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene and an autopsy was ordered to determine the
cause of death.

The vehicle collision is still under investigation, but alcohol and speed appear to be a contributing factor in the accident. Felipe Sanchez Jr. did suffer a fracture to his left foot as a result of the collision, and after being treated at a local hospital; he was taken to the San Benito City Jail, and charged with intoxication manslaughter. Municipal Judge Ben Yudesis arraigned him and set a “No bond.” Felipe Sanchez Jr. also had a Motion to Revoke Warrant out of Cameron County for a Deadly Conduct which also required a “No Bond.” He was sent to the Cameron County Jail.
