San Benito Housing Authority Demolishes Buildings

The impact of Hurricane Dolly is one many will remember here in the Valley.
The storm brought thousands of dollars in damage and left families without homes. In one area of San Benito alone 53 families could not return home. This week the San Benito Housing Authority received $530,000 dollars in stimulus money to knock down the complex. During the hurricane the buildings suffered heavy flooding from 18 to 20 inches of water damaging the inside. All the families were forced out of their homes received assistance to find new housing.
The Housing Authority says it should take six to eight weeks to completely demolish all buildings.
