Former Fire Chief Orlando Garcia may be out in San Benito, but firefighters say they're still waiting for the city to resolve the reason behind their letter of no confidence filed against Garcia.

The firefighters sent the letter to the city in September after trying to resolve a pay cut of about .70 cents an hour depending on time served. The firefighters say when state law required the city to increase the contribution to their retirement, they saw pay cuts shortly after. For some firefighters that meant a pay difference of about $60 to $70 dollars every two weeks.

Firefighters say the City Manager is answering all questions about Garcia's cut from the department, but the City Manager was not available when NewsCenter 23 asked to speak on the issue. Firefighters say the city is still crunching numbers to determine if the firefighters got a pay cut and why.
