A recent meeting among city leaders, to determine the future of the public library, has brought little change.

The Economic Development Corporation Committee met earlier this week to consider demolishing the old library to make way for the city's three museums and art center complex. That decision has now been pushed back several weeks until an architect firm can be hired. Alma Colleli from the San Benito Development stated, "It's not being used as a library it's a cultural arts center. Right now it is going to be based on the recommendation of the architect that comes in and evaluates the site and the building and presents those options to the EDC board and the city commission."

The new date to decide on the future of the library has been set for April 12th.
