The salmonella scare is now striking the Valley with health officials confirming a case in Willacy County.

The Texas Department of State Health Services says peanut butter and other products containing peanut butter are likely to blame for the Valley salmonella case. Nationwide 486 cases are under investigation and six of those are in Texas.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration, U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other health agencies are investigating the outbreak and urge you to not eat any food containing peanut butter.
