Fleeing fugitive leads deputies on high-speed chase through Sacramento's rush hour traffic.

A man and a woman were taken into custody Wednesday night following a high-speed chase through rush-hour traffic in California's northeast Sacramento County, deputies said.

The chase started at an apartment complex near Walerga Road, where Sacramento County sheriff's deputies were called to assist city police with the apprehension of a person whose parole had been revoked, deputies said.

Sgt. Chris Guerrero said the two people left in a vehicle, and a pursuit ensued.

It crossed over a median, went against oncoming traffic, zigzagged through cars, and climbed onto a sidewalk.
