BROWNSVILLE — A routine traffic stop by a Brownsville police officer led to the seizure of a large amount of money hidden within the vehicle.

Police canine unit had pulled over a van with Mexican plates over on a traffic violation and during a search of the vehicle the canine alerted police to the gas tank of the vehicle. A search of the vehicle's gas tank revealed bundles of money floating inside the tank totaling nearly $370,000 dollars. The driver denied he knew or owned the money and no one has come forward to claim the money.
