A Las Milpas store owner whacked a thief in the back as he tried to make a dash for cash.

Police say 46 year-old Federico Tamez came into the Mister Freeze store off Vicker street last night wanting to buy some food. The store was ready to close but the owner's brother sold the suspect some ice cream. That's when the suspect pulled a knife out and demanded money. Tamez was taken to a local hospital for treatment and is facing aggravated robbery charges.
