Results from State Amendment Election

Here are the results from the ten state constitutional amendments that were on the ballot.

  • Amendment 1 - Tax exemption for surviving spouses of a veteran had a 83% voting in favor and 17% voting  against it.
  • Amendment 2 - Texas water bonds had a close race with 52% voting in favor and 49.9% voting against it.
  • Amendment 3 - Whether or not to issue loans for students, 56% voted in favor while 43.7% voted against it.
  • Amendment 4 - Whether to allow counties to issue bonds for development, 42.2% voted in favor and 57.5%  voted against.
  • Amendment 5 - Tax free contracts, 60% voted in favor and 49.9% voted against it.
  • Amendment 6 - Public school funding, 60% voted in favor and 39.9% voted against it.
  • Amendment 7 - Permit county to create recremation districts, 48.8% voted in favor and 51.1% voted against it.
  • Amendment 8 - Open space taxes, 48.9% voted in favor and 51% voted against it.
  • Amendment 9 - Authorize government to pardon a person who completed deferred adjudication, 56.7% voted in favor and 43.2% voted against it.
  • Amendment 10 - The term extension, 56% voted in favor and 44% voted against it.
