Residents agree with President on increase of minimum wage

President Obama is wanting to increase the minimum wage to $9 dollars per hour and called for Congress to raise it during his State of the Union Address on Tuesday. Currently the minimum wage is at $7.25 dollars per hour which the the President says is above the poverty line, "Tonight, let's declare that in the wealthiest nation on Earth, no one who works fulltime should have to live in poverty and raise the federal minimum wage to $9 dollars an hour."

With that announcement, NewsCenter 23 decided to find out what residents thought about the possibility of a minimum wage hike, most people from Brownsville said they agreed with the President.
