Will begin rescue efforts.
The baby dolphin that spent the past month caught in fishing line will soon be free.
A team of about 15 rescures arrived earlier this afternoon, and will begin the rescue efforts as soon as possible. The plan is to capture the dolphin to remove the fishing line that is cutting into its fin.
So far, Sheri Gomez of Casa Mariposa and Kevin and Janeen Taylor of Isle of Flowers of SPI have donated their hotels to lodge the rescuers, one volunteer has agreed to make sandwiches for everyone during the rescue, and four boat captains have donated their boats.
The South Padre Island Reasearch Center is still seeking donations.
