Report indicates vehicle thefts increase in the month of July
The Texas Crime Analysis Report shows vehicle thefts occur about every eight minutes.
The month of July typically means an increase in vehicle auto thefts. That's according to the Auto Burglary and Theft Prevention Authority.
The ABTP says almost half of the vehicles stolen in Texas each year are easy targets because the keys are left inside the car.
Rounding out the top three most commonly stolen vehicles are Ford, Chevrolet and Dodge trucks.
