The Border Patrol unveiled safety beacons in Falfurrias and the beacons can be used by anyone in distress including undocumented immigrants.

Agents say the beacons will help cut back on heat related injuries and even death, they are designed for remote areas along the border to help those who are in a life threatening situation.

The beacons will be placed in established smuggling routes and by activating the beacon a person could be located and the Border Patrol will respond.
