Marchers mark the 49th anniversary of the historic Selma Bridge Crossing and call for renewed protections of voter rights. Hannah Lane reports.
(WSFA) The 49th annual Bridge Crossing Jubilee, to mark the anniversary of Bloody Sunday in Selma, Alabama was held this weekend.
The event is held on the first weekend of March every year, and is held to preserve, commemorate, educate and raise awareness about the Voting Rights Movement.
The event has attracted participation from thousands across the country including famous celebrities such as Rev. Jesse Jackson, who was in attendance this year. The jubilee event consists of over 40 events that are put on over the four day period.
