Memorial Day has a double meaning for most, as either a day of fun and relaxation or a day to look back and honor does who have fought for our freedom.
At local cemetaries, valley residents are remembering their loved ones who died serving the country they love.
Janie Olvera says, she'll never forget her dad.
"I was his special daughter, his number one child."
Her dad, Samuel Euresti was an Army Vet who served in World War 2.
"What the soldiers have done for us, if it wasn't for them we wouldn't be having our freedom."
Janie paid a special visit to the cemetary today.
"I came to check and see if he has his flag my mom always wants him to have a flag."
"My mom can't do it anymore, so i decided to come today and check on my dad's grave to see if he does have that flag."
Janie says, she's glad the flag is still here, but her dad's grave site, needed some more decorations, pin-wheels on this holiday.
"I love him and I'll never forget him."
