There was unexpected surprise at PSJA Memorial high school as HEB representatives surprised principal Judith Solis in a big way. Mrs. Solis was selected as a top five finalist for the high school division of HEB's Excellence in Education competition and it was an honor that she had no idea she had won, "Speechless, I feel happy. I am proud because I always challenge the kids to be their very best and I push the teachers to be their very best.. It's kind of like a little cherry on top. I am very proud and honored."

HEB gives every finalist a $1,000 dollar check and a $2,500 dollar check for their school. Mrs. Solis is the only high school principal in the Valley selected.
