President of UTB Speaks on Termination with TSC
The President of the University of Texas at Brownsville spoke out on Friday, following the decision for the UT System Board of Regents, on the termination of it's partnership agreement with the Board of Trustees of Texas Southmost College.
President Juliet Garcia answered questions from concerned students and staff on what the decision means. There are currently 11 UTB employees paid with a Texas Southmost College salary. It's still unclear what will happen once the transition goes through. Garcia says that financial aid will be unaffected for students, but those who have scholarships with TSC may change.
The president says it's still unclear when the termination will take place between UT and TSC, but she says it could be within a year.
