The Cameron County Sheriff's Department says they have collected the weapon that was used to murder Sonia Perez who was found dead in her vehicle.

A witness stated to investigators that one of the alleged suspects, Daniel Perez, gave the weapon to another person to keep in his possession. The type of weapon and location of it was not released by investigators and so far three people have been charged with capital murder in connection to Sonia Perez's death. One of those individuals is Julio Cesar Perez who is Sonia's husband and a local pastor of a church.

He is accused of paying the suspects $3,000 dollars to have his wife killed and investigators believe the motive might be Sonia's life insurance which is worth $100,000 to $120,000 dollars. The weapon will be sent to a lab for testing  and those results should be back by next week.
