Officials at the Port  of Brownsville are being tight lipped after the Chief of Police submitted his resignation.

Chief of Police George Gavito submitted his resignation on Friday and it was immediately accepted by Port Director and CEO Eduardo Campirano. The reason for Gavito's resignation is unclear and the Port of Director released a statement saying "It does not comment on personnel matters. The Brownsville Navigation District will not be commenting further."
