WESLACO - The minority police union in Weslaco is pushing the city to investigate Weslaco Police Chief Juan Sifuentes actions during a bank robbery.

The Combined Law Enforcement Associations of Texas, known as CLEAT, claims in the letter sent to the City Manager, that Chief Sifuentes reacted inappropriately during a bank robbery at the La Joya Area Federal Credit Union two weeks ago. The city manager stated to NewsCenter 23 that the city is still assessing the problem and is currently deciding whether or not to take action. CLEAT wants the city to investigate the actions of the chief further and place him on leave. The city is expected to have a decision on this matter on Wednesday.
