PENITAS - A short car chase ended with the driver arrested and the confiscation of marijuana by Texas State troopers in Penitas.

The troopers seized close to 515 pounds of marijuana that was inside the vehicle. The chase began around 2 PM and went through U.S. 83 to La Joya and Penitas. The driver, in a Jeep Liberty, fled on foot, but was later found with the assistance of Penitas police department.
