DONNA- Police are on the look out for a pair of thieves that were caught in the act, breaking into an Upper Valley business. The general manager hopes the surveillance cameras will help capture the would be thieves.

A security camera captures a couple guys walking up to the Max Crash Auto Parts store in Donna. One of them is carrying a sledge hammer while the other masked his face. The general manager says they tried to break into the store, but the alarm system spooked them away.

"Fortunately they didn't get away with any equipment or anything like that but the bad thing is that they did broke two cameras--two surveillance cameras and the front door of the business," said Jesse Contreras.

The estimated cost of the damages is around three thousand dollars. This isn't the first time this type of incident has happened, the shop has been broken into more than three times and it still concerns Contreras.
Dozens of cameras have been installed since the first attempt and a fence stands tall surrounding the business to halt potential thieves.
"

We have a laser system to in case they trip, and sensors, everything! and still they manage to come in," said Contreras.

The incident happened Saturday night. T he owner of the store tells News Center 23 that three other businesses in the area have been hit by thieves and hopes someone can recognize the would be thieves and call police.

If you have any information about the pair your asked to call Donna Crime Stoppers at 464-8477
