Police search for suspects in Stripes store robbery

Police are searching for two suspects believed to be involved in the armed robbery of a McAllen Stripes store.

On Tuesday, December 31st at around 5 a.m. police were dispatched to a Stripes store at 1225 North 23rd Street in reference to a robbery.

The clerk reported that two individuals entered the store with one suspect pointing a handgun at them and demanding money from the register.

The employee complied with the demands and both suspects fled the scene with an unknown amount of cash and cigarettes.

Surveillance video images have been released to the public and investigators are asking for the public's help in identifying the suspects.

The first suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his late teens, approximately 5’ 6” in height, 170 pounds wearing a black hooded sweater, black gloves, blue jeans and tan or gray shoes. The second suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his early 20's, approximately 5’ 6” in height, 160 pounds wearing a black jacket, black beanie hat, black jeans, and white shoes.
