It's a scandal that has rocked the nation for the last few weeks. Bringing a spotlight on the issue of sexual abuse against young boys. Police in the upper valley say a similar situation has happened here.

"The victim reported that the coach would allegedly enter the room where the boys were asleep and kiss them on the mouth, caressed him on his body and fondled his genitals," said Lt. Oscar Trevino.

Juan Jose Lucio was charged with several counts of indecency with a child yesterday. Police say two victims claim he sexually assaulted them back in 2001. The boys played for a baseball team at a Boys and Girls Club in Elsa where Lucio was a volunteer coach. The boys were only 10 years old.

It took 10 years to come forward against a man they once trusted. Something that officials are seeing more often.

CASA of Hidalgo County handles several sexual abuse cases through out the area. Officials here say its more important to talk to your kids more than ever. Officials say its one thing for a victim to not come forward right away but unacceptable if others dont. In Texas keeping quiet is against the law.
