Police say Brownsville man burglarized 15 homes

BROWNSVILLE, TEXAS (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — "Burglaries are a huge problem is your area? Absolutely, absolutely." said Brownsville resident Gloria Perez.
Gloria Perez lives on Hamburg street off Alton Ggloor. She says her home was broken into several years ago.
"Mine, my neighbors, and the house 4 houses down, my son's best friend he got burglarized." said Perez
Police say there has been a recent string of burglaries in subdivision's off Alton Gloor, a total of 15, they say the man behind the crimes is 40 year old Michael Sanchez.
Police say Sanchez would kick in the front door, once he got inside, he would grab what he could and then would take off.
Police say he would take electronics and sell them.
Perez's neighbor was one the victim's. He was home at the time in the bathroom when the thief struck Monday.
Police say the victim told police Sanchez driving a newer jeep Liberty.
Thursday police spotted the vehicle near Billy Mitchell and Boca Chica and arrested Sanchez.
Perez says her and neighbors are always watching out for each other, and now she has a gun in her home to protect herself.
"One that's registered, I didn't want have to do that but you have to take care of your belongings and your family first of all." said Perez.
