The Weslaco Police Department will be offering a self-defense class for women on Wednesday evening. Trained officers will educate fifty women on ways to defend themselves if they were to be attacked. During the class, women will get to see and participate in demonstrations and listen to victims who have been attacked. A statewide crime analysis report shows a sexual assault happens every seven hours in the State of Texas. The class is at full capacity, but any woman who is interested in attending a class should call the police station to sign up for next class.
