Police Continue to Investigate Mall Shooting

BROWNSVILLE - Brownsville police released new information about the shooting that occurred at Sunrise Mall.

According to reports filed, police recovered an additional two new weapons they believe may have been used in the shooting. On Sunday, three rifles were seized and a juvenile suspect was detained and since has been released, but police declined to comment on his role in the incident. The shooting sent one man to the hospital after he was shot in the shoulder and police continue to investigate the crime.

Officer J.J. Trevino stated, "The investigators recovered two handguns yesterday. These two weapons are believed to have been used at the incident at Sunrise Mall. They also have identified three other individuals that were in the vehicle but there have been no arrests made."
