Piling On Perry

GOP candidates take aim at front-runner Rick Perry during CNN/Tea Party debate.

The Republican presidential candidates squared off again Monday night.

The forum, which aired on CNN, was co-sponsored by the Tea Party Express.

In their second debate in less than a week, the candidates spared no punches while zeroing in on current front runner Texas Governor Rick Perry.

Governor Perry defended past comments where he called Social Security a Ponzi scheme and made no apologies.

"Rather than try to scare seniors like you are doing and other people it's time to have a legitimate conversation in this country," he said.

"The term 'Ponzi scheme' is what scared seniors," Mitt Romney retorted.

Governor Perry's executive order to mandate young girls have an HPV vaccine to prevent cervical cancer drew the most fire.

"At the end of the day this was about trying to stop a cancer...I am always on side of life," he said.

His political rivals saw an opening and went on the attack.

"Was it about life or millions or billions of dollars for a drug company?," Rep. Michele Bachmann countered.

One of Perry's former staffers was the chief lobbyist for the company that manufactured the vaccine at the time of the order.
