Photo ID Not Required to Vote

RIO GRANDE VALLEY — If you are a registered voter in Cameron or Hidalgo county, who still need to cast their vote, we want to remind you that you do not need to present a photo ID to vote. However, you do have to present some form of document that serves as identification and here are a few to choose from; a birth certificate, citizenship papers, a passport or any governmental document showing name and address. The State of Texas implemented Senate Bill 14 that would have required a person to show a photo ID to vote, but a federal court in D.C.. ruled against the law saying it would disenfranchise a large number of voters.
