Pharr police are investigating the robbery of a convenience store which occurred on Thursday evening.

Pharr police were called, around 10:30 p.m.,  to the Providencia convenience store, located at 609 E. Evans  in reference to a robbery.

It was reported that a man had entered the store wearing a blue bandana over his face and demanding money from the clerk.

The suspect fled on foot with an undetermined amount of money and cigarettes. He is described as being 5'8" in height, weighing approximately 200 lbs., wearing sunglasses, a plaid purple long sleeve shirt, blue jeans, blue white tennis shoes and an orange Longhorn baseball cap.
