Pharr Police Department Investigating Reimbursement Scam
PHARR SAN JUAN ALAMO - The Pharr Police Department is investigating an apparent reimbursement scam involving PSJA school district facilities.
Police Chief Ruben Villescas says the subject of the investigation is a man not employed by or affiliated with the school district and he allegedly tried to collect bogus reimbursement charges from an outside party for the use of a school stadium. The false documents referenced PSJA school board trustee Bobby Rodriguez as the person requesting the reimbursement. Both the Pharr Police Department and PSJA Superintendent of schools Daniel King says there is no evidence Rodriguez was involved. It also appears that his name was used without his knowledge and the investigation continues in the matter.
