Pharr man sentenced to prison for straw purchases
McAllen, TEXAS (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — A Pharr man has been sentenced to prison for his involvement in several straw purchases of firearms.
On Monday, September 30th a U.S. District Judge sentenced Christopher Bryan Santos, 21, to over four years in federal prison.
ATF agents discovered information on four firearms being purchased by Santos in March and April of 2011. Santos admitted he gave false information on purchasing forms which were really being bought for another individual.
Agents found out the firearms were being trafficked and used in illegal activity and that Santos was recruiting others to make additional straw purchases.
