PFLAG Host Marrige Ceremony
BROWNSVILLE — Three couples with the Brownsville chapter of PFLAG (Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays) organization were married last Friday.
Although the State of Texas does not recognize their marriage the ceremony was held to bring a moment for hope in legalizing same sex marriage. Betty Cantu, one of the three couples married at the ceremony, said it was a special moment for her and her partner, "It just makes it that much better for us, just like any other couple right now, that is married gets to celebrate their Valentine's Day with their wife or their husband. I get to do that today, it's just a great feeling, I can't explain the feeling because it is just awesome."
Across the state on Tuesday and in both Austin and Fort Worth, many people were demonstrating their desire for same sex marriages to be allowed.
