PENITAS, TEXAS (KVEO NEWS CENTER 23) — More than a dozen dogs are dead after police say somebody fed them meat poisoned with antifreeze. Now, the animal-rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals is helping find the culprit.
13 dogs were found dead in Penitas, and police have no clues and no motive on the supposed attack. PETA was alerted to the case and is offering $2,500 for information that leads to an arrest.
"I appreciate that, because we need all the information we can get, we need the help," said Penitas Police Chief Roel Bermea. "We are trying to find the culprit or culprits... So hopefully with people getting the word out there there's a reward, maybe somebody will come forward with information."
