This is what's known as tent city. It's located at the end of F-Street. Some folks have been living here for months others for years.
The land is private owned by Union Pacific and police say Union Pacific does not want these folks on their property anymore.
Police visited folks in tent city and told them they need to leave and handed out citations.
"The paper says interferring with railroad property."
Michael Young has lived in tent city for a year and half.
"Being rousted out, that's what I call it."
Police say if they are not off the property by Friday morning they will be arrested for trespassing. As many pack up their stuff it's uncertain where they will head.
"We are leaving tonight they told us they they don't want us in the morning we are going to have to leave tonight so honestly I don't know where going to go or do but we are getting out of here."
One of the few who does have a plan is Michael Young.
He's from Iowa. He hitchiked his way down here for the weather. Currently he sells papers on the weekend. With that money on Monday he plans to hitchhike back to Iowa to be with his 27 year old daughter .
For those who don't have a plan the executive director of Loaves and Fishes Bill Reagan is offering them a place.
"We would glad to have them stay with us we have the shelter for the men and the woman and be have room for them."
