Pentagon To Outline DADT Transition

End of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy means service members could serve openly by this summer.

The Pentagon is set to outline its plan for the implementation of the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" repeal.

Military leaders are expected to tell Congress that gay and lesbian service members should be able to serve openly by this summer.

Their report will outline plans for recruitment, training, housing and benefits.

The repeal will take full effect two months after President Obama, Secretary of Defense Robert Gates and the Joint Chiefs of Staff certify that members serving openly won't have an impact on the military's combat readiness.
