Panel to Consider Redistricting Map

RIO GRANDE VALLEY - The battle lines continue to be drawn in South Texas when it comes to voter districts as the most recent redistricting map for Texas has been recalled.
Now there are plans to go before a three judge panel in San Antonio to get a revised map that both Democratic and Republican representatives can agree on. Hidalgo County Judge Ramon Garcia spoke about the delay and what he believes should be the ultimate outcome, "We have the one man one vote then they try to equalize the representation amongst other populations and we had a tremendous amount of growth in South Texas. We definitely believe we are entitled to one more state representative seat along with another congressional seat, that hopefully we'll be able to get."
Due to the redistricting delay and the need for election officials to update the system as well as issue absentee ballots. The judge says the primary elections will mostly like be pushed back to June.
