With these frigid temperatures, a Brownsville shelter is offering a warm place to stay for residents.
The Ozanam Center located on the 500 block of North Minnesota is taking in residents and has the capacity of holding 198 people. Director of the center Victor Maldonado says all residents are welcomed and have a safe environment and are opened 24 hours a day. The center does provide showers, blankets, beds and meals for those in need.
So far 55 individuals have checked in and they do expect more people to be arriving for protection from the cold weather.
