Over $774,000 cocaine seized at Brownsville port of entry

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers intercepted a large load of cocaine at the Gateway port of entry.

On Tuesday, October 22nd, CBP officers encountered a white 2012 Toyota Camry driven by a 28 year-old woman accompanied by a 3 year-old girl and both residents of Matamoros, Tamaulipas.

Officers referred the vehicle to a secondary inspection where CBP officers discovered 10 packages of alleged cocaine weighing over 24 pounds and an estimated street value of $774,400.

The woman was turned over to Homeland Security investigators and the child was returned to family members in Mexico.
