Work. Kids. School. Money.Stress. It's no wonder Americans are sleep deprived and its no different here in the valley.
Dr. Eugene Deal is an acreditted sleep physician here in the valley. He says not getting enough sleep may be more dangerous than you think.

"One needs a peaceful night of sleep," said Dr.Deal. "These conditions wreck your sleep, puts your body under stress, puts out hormones and actually causes you to gain weight. It increases the risk of stroke, increases the risk of diabetes, increase the risk of heart attacks and make their blood pressure worse. That needs to be taken seriously."

Weight is a major risk factor when it comes to sleeping disorders. Along with genetics and even the shape of your face and neck. According to Dr.Deal, it largely affects hispanic people.

Sleep treatment centers are all over the valley. They've seen an increase in patients over the years..
The centers deal with a variety of issues like sleep apnea, narcolepsy, insomnia and other rare disorders.

Patients are monitored over night at the center. Electroids are placed through out the body to measure heart rate, brain waves, breathing and movement. Doctors have to view every move in order to diagnose the issue.
