Our War In Iraq Ends This Month
President Obama meets with Iraq's prime minister as final U.S. combat forces prepare to withdraw.
President Obama and Iraq's prime minister honored the casualties of the Iraq War Monday.
Mr. Obama and Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki placed a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns in Arlington National Cemetery.
Service members stood at attention as both leaders arrived together.
"We're here to mark end of this war, to honor the sacrifices of all those who made this day possible and to turn the page," Mr. Obama said.
After placing the wreath they stood in silence as taps was played.
Some 4,500 U.S. service members have been killed in Iraq since the war began nearly nine years ago.
Iraq is promising to stage joint training with U.S. forces after the majority of troops complete their withdrawal later this month.
