Several students and faculty at a McAllen elementary celebrated Earth Day by planting several trees at a school.

The City of McAllen, AEP and Keep McAllen Beautiful organization donated twelve trees to Blanca E. Sanchez elementary school. The school is fairly new and was in need of trees and plants on the property. The school district took the opportunity to educate students about the importance of trees. School officials say they are grateful for the trees and hope they will provide much needed shade.
