Operation Lone Star 2014 is coming to South Texas this summer. The operation is a joint exercise involving the Department of State Health Services, Texas Military Forces, Cameron County Department of Health and Human Services, Hidalgo County Health and Human Services, and City of Laredo Health Department to prepare for disasters.

All organizations work together to bring FREE medical services to under-served communities along the Texas border. The operation is made possible with the help of hundreds of local service groups and volunteers.

Some of the services provided are:

  • Immunizations for children
  • Diabetic screening
  • Blood pressure screening
  • Hearing and vision screenings
  • Sports physicals
  • Preventive dental services for school-age children will be provided at Ringgold Middle School
  • Dental services and vision exams for prescription glasses for adults and children will be provided at Manzano Middle School in Brownsville and Palmview High School in Palmview.

Monday, August 4 – Thursday, August 7, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Friday, August 8, 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
