One dead, many injured in Mexican candy factory explosion.
Cd. Juarez, Chih. — At least one young factory worker is dead and dozens of employees are injured after a massive explosion at a maquiladora in Juarez, Mexico. Reporter Ben Zamora has more from the scene of the candy factory.
It was a tragic day for employees and their families at a maquila in Ciudad Juarez, a massive explosion at the Blueberry candy factory left 51 employees injured and at least one confirmed death of a young worker between the age of 25 and 30.
According to witnesses the explosion happened after a boiler collapsed in one of the work areas, police say 40 employees were working there. Juarez Mayor Enrique Serrano arrived to receive information he says the city will provide medical assistance for the families and a investigation will be initiated, "We have to make sure that no one is still inside the building that's what we're working on and making sure we know what happened."
One desperate mother waited for hours to hear news about her son like many others waited, cried and hoped for a miracle.
It is expected that Johnson controls will post a link of those missing victims and fatalities.
