Oil well explosion in Karnes County leaves one man injured

An oil well explosion kept firefighters busy working to put out flames near a Texas highway Tuesday morning.

The explosion happened in Karnes County, about 50 miles southeast of San Antonio.

Officials say several batteries and diesel trucks were involved in the blast.

One man was injured during the explosion and airlifted to a San Antonio hospital for burns.

A nearby highway was closed for safety reasons while crews battled the flames.

Crews are still investigating the cause.
