Officer arrested for selling drugs out of cruiser
Winthrop, MA — An auxiliary police officer in Winthrop, Massachusetts is accused of dealing cocaine out of his cruiser.
Beldar Naco, 34, was arrested by the FBI, Winthrop and Revere police departments late last Thursday.
Law enforcement sources told Winthrop's Police Chief that Naco had allegedly distributed drugs in uniform and out of an Auxiliary police crustier on several occasions, "Was I disappointed? Yes I was extremely disappointed. Was it hard for us to go through this last several months? Absolutely."
Naco was arraigned in federal district court on Friday and held pending a detention hearing at federal court.
Chief Delehanty says while Naco was only an Auxiliary volunteer officer, he was wearing a uniform and badge, so the alleged crime tarnishes everyone's badge.
