Obama On Bullying
President says more must be done to fight increasingly deadly trends.
Bullying is not an inevitable part of growing up and it's not acceptable.
That's the word from President Obama as he and the First Lady open a conference to prevent bullying.
The conference is bringing together students, educators, experts and politicians to shed light on how bullying affects American communities and present strategies for reducing instances of bullying.
Bullying has gained increasing media attention in recent years with a spurt of highly publicized suicides of young people trying to escape the torment of their peers.
The growth of technology has also played a role in the spreading of bullying.
