President Obama gives statement on deadly Oklahoma tornado. Offers condolences and help to those hit by storm

(NBC News) Flanked by Vice President Joe Biden and Homeland Security Janet Napolitano, President Obama issued a formal statement this morning on Monday's deadly tornado in Oklahoma.

Mr. Obama offered his condolences to those who lost family, friends and property in the massive storm.

The President also said the federal government is sending physical aid and financial support to the area, including communication systems.

President Obama also cautioned Americans to remember this is the peak of tornado storm season and other potential storms could threaten more parts of the country.
