Brownsville police have released the incident report taken after that package exploded at a Brownsville home in mid January off of Resaca Vista. According to the narrative the homeowner's son and wife were getting ready to drop their daughter off at school when they brought in an unexpected FedEx package from the porch that exploded upon opening. The narrative also states a person visiting the home the previous night didn't see a package when he left at 11 pm. News Center 23 confirmed with FedEx that they did not deliver a package to a home on Resaca Vista drive on January 11th. Whoever is responsible for the delivery will be charged with attempted capital murder.
Just a few days remains until the 26 dogs who attacked their elderly owner, and are under quarantine at the Brownsville Animal Shelter, will know their fate. While some are still very skittish, even visibly shaken, other still show signs of aggression. Animal shelter officials say a pretty detailed medical evaluation has been done during the dogs lock up. On Sunday the shelter director and vet will likely decide if the dogs will be sent out to rescue groups, adoptable or put to sleep.
