New Moon Photos Snapshots In Time
NASA releases new images showing tracks of Apollo astronauts undisturbed by time.
NASA has released new images of the moon, some of which show how time has stood still there for nearly 40 years.
Today, from 30 miles above the lunar surface, you can see the lunar rover parked where Apollo 17 astronauts left it.
You can also see the rover's tracks, undisturbed.
"These are some of the most amazing images of the moon that I've ever seen because they put into a really cool context what was done back during Apollo," says NASA's Noah Petro.
The Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter was sent to the moon a few years ago to find water and to map its surface from orbit.
The pictures of Apollo landing sites show how sharp its cameras really are.
